I loved the side-story with the escaped prized-pigeons; I love it when Mandy gets to learn about a particular species, because I learn too. So I liked reading and learning about the pigeons and how special they can be.
The story/urgency in this book wasn't focused on the two little lambs on the cover as much as on the abandoned lamb with the lame legs. Poor little Fleet! But my *goodness*, I never realized sheep were such hardy, brave animals. I really liked this plotline and I loved learning more about sheep, and of course I was very happy at the end. (
