A very interesting account of a missionary doctor in Burma in the 1930’s and early WW2. A very human story told around people less than events. The nurses were an impressive group of women. Eventually they operated as a field hospital for the Chinese forces under Stilwell. The account of the walk out of Burma is excellent. If you have ever covered mountains on foot, it is astounding to take in what they did and the footgear and food they had. Remarkable people. Recommended reading. ( ) no reviews | add a review
