This is probably my favorite of the three novels in the series. I really enjoyed Tori's character, which surprised me because she wasn't really my favorite supporting character in the other books. I enjoyed watching Tori and Ryan discover how much they liked each other and how compatible they actually were. I liked finding out that Tori was a lot more genuine than I thought she was. Overall it was just an interesting story and I'm sad the series is over.
Third Times a Charm (Sister To Sister series - Book 3) by Virginia Smith

(For review from Kathy Willis Communications)

Synopsis:

Tori Sanderson has the professional opportunity of a lifetime. If she can prove she's executive material, she's in line for a big promotion. But there's only room for one new account executive, and her co-worker has his eye on the job--and on Tori. Her matchmaking sisters have a handsome handyman in mind for her. But how can she consider romance when she couldn't hold on to the one man who was supposed to love her forever--her own father? The time has come for answers, and Tori decides to search out the father who deserted her twelve years ago. While Tori may find the answers she craves, will she ever be able to show more love again? A heartwarming story of sisters, retail therapy, and love that endures, Third Time's a Charm is the satisfying conclusion to Virginia Smith's SISTER-TO-SISTER series.

Thoughts:

This is a book about sister's. A subject that's close to my heart since I have an older sister and I have two daughters. In the third book of the Sister-to-Sister series, Third Time's a Charm, Virginia Smith takes us back to the lives of the three Sanderson sisters; Tori, Allie and Joan. Three women who could not be more different. Smith is able to show the bonds that are formed between sisters and how unbreakable those bonds can be.

I really entered the fact that Allie and Joan took it upon themselves to try to fix Tori up with the neighborhood, handy man. That is soooo like something my sister did to me at one time. LOL! It's also interesting to see how Tori deals with the possibility of an office romance. Not only with someone she may like, but also the person who may just take the promotion she has in her sights.

I liked this book a lot for several reasons. It was very contemporary and dealt with issues that people are facing in their every day lives. Tori has to wonder if office romances really work out? Is it necessary to always buy the trendy expensive brands when you shop? What is the appropriate way to show your faith in the work place? How much information is out on the internet about you?

This is a great addition to the Sister-to-Sister series. Smith shows that great romance doesn't have to be steamy and erotic, most of the time there is some of that, but isn't the focus of most real romances. This book was breath of fresh air.

Third Time's a Charm as well as the other books in the Sister-to-Sister series are available NOW at your favorite bookseller.

I'm giving this one 4 out of 5 apples from my book bag! This is a great easy, light read, that's realistic and very contemporary.

I’ve just dropped from a cloud of fluffiness, full of girlie goodness and cheese ball romance. What can I say though- I’m a sucker for girlie clean cut fiction. This is for sure a great beach read. Although this was a third in series, I didn’t feel lost with not reading the previous two. The story was written well enough to carry a separate plot and stand alone.

Tori's fast paced career leaves her little time for family life and romance. Competition is cutthroat in her business and she has a boss to match. When Tori’s meddlesome but hearts in the right place sisters set her up with farm boy Ryan things get turned upside down in Tori’s upscale world. I liked Tori’s character in the sense that she was strong and independent, show more and I liked that Ryan was a good-looking nice guy, but they and the story fell flat in the sense that everything in her life was so quickly resolved. Predictable outcomes laced the story and everything fell into place just as you would have suspected.

If your looking for something nice and cheerful this is for sure a great read!!!!!!

Tori Sanderson is the youngest of the three Sanderson sisters. She loves to shop for designer clothes and shoes.

Her two older sisters fix her up with Ryan, a farm boy from her hometown. Over time Tori slowly falls in love with Ryan, much to her two older sisters’ delight. Unfortunately, Ryan’s busybody sister-in-law interferes way too much, showing up at their first date with her two sons. The two older Sanderson sisters are also not quite as bad at interfering but they do invade their sister’s love life asking Ryan for details after each date. In fact, they go as far as to show up at the hardware store where Ryan works!

Tori works at a very high pressure job in a nearby town and has a boss that expects her to work 24/7. She’s show more also up for a promotion along with her coworker, Mitch. If Mitch gets the promotion, Tori would work for him so the competition between the two is fierce!

Mitch also has his eye on Tori and can’t figure out what Tori sees in Ryan.

Tori’s possible promotion adds further complications to their relationship since she has to work harder than ever hardly leaving her time to breathe much less date. She has to do her regular job as well as garner experience and get a presentation together for the owners of a restaurant. Whoever has the best presentation and wins the restaurant owners over, gets the promotion. So, the competition between Tori and Mitch is fierce!

I truly enjoyed this easy to read book but was a bit disappointed in the beginning. Tori is at the mall buying a gift for her sister, Joan’s, wedding shower present. While she’s in the mall she sees a pair of designer shoes that she thinks she has to have. This makes her late for Joan’s wedding shower! How can you be late for one of your sisters’ biggest events in her life? From there on the book got much better.

This is the last book in the Sister-to-Sister series. As a sister myself, I could relate to the three sisters. I’ve never read a book from this trilogy before but after reading this book, I would like to read the other two books. This Christian book is easy to read without being ‘preachy’. This book has to be in any church library and in your own personal library!
