I didn't usually acquire books from relatively unknown poets--this one happened to come to me for free, and I figured there wouldn't be any harm in actually reading it. I'm so glad I did! This book contains poems from gay, Hispanic author Francisco X. Alarcon--some of the poems were contained in previous collections and some were new. I have dog-eared many of the pages to mark my favorite poems. Most of the poems are listed in both Spanish and English (I suspect the poems are more elegant in Spanish, as there is often only one Spanish word listed where there are multiple English words), and span many topics from love to language to religion to Hispanic pride to much more. I have transcribed my favorite poem from the book here: show more target="_top">http://www.allconsuming.net/entry/view/23072 show less
