Queen of the Sun: A Modern Revelation, is written in two parts. Part one is a mystery/thriller and actually quite good! A young man finds an ancient and mysterious relic - turns out it is sought after by people in the high financial world organizations because it is not only mysterious, but also contains mystical powers. The young man narrowly escapes with the help of friends, each escape bringing him closer to the people to whom the relic actually belongs. Part two is his mystical journey through the jungles of Mexico, which he travels with several people who have reached enlightenment. This Part Two is nothing but a mish-mash of new-age philosophies. One hundred or so pages of "discussion" between the primaries about anything new-age, show more pages of (to me) boring lectures given on a rudimentary level, perhaps to "educate" the uninitiated in these philosophies?
I rated this book as 2 stars because the first part is pretty good, if the author, E.J. Michael, had continued the pace he began in Part One into Part Two, this could have been pretty good. But he didn't. So the book is no more than an initiation into his mish-mashed new-age philosophies. show less

The most wonderful adventure I have read in a long time, by far my favourite.

- First words
- All my life I have been a seeker. In my youth I developed a passion for the "hidden side" of things, and through the years I've remained forever charmed by the notion that it is possible to live a life imbued with love and jo... (show all)y. During my college days I adopted the classical ideals of truth, beauty, and goodness as models of inner striving. And though it's true that I have often lost sight of these philosophical icons -- straying into realms of personal and professional futility -- never before that fateful September day had I stumbled so far from my path.
