Book 2 of the Honky Tonk series

From New York Times and USA Today-bestselling author Carolyn Brown comes a contemporary Western romance inspired by the hit country music song, featuring the romantic adventures of the feisty new owner of the Honky Tonk beer joint and the hot, hard-headed cowboy who is out to steal her heart.

Cathy O'Dell never felt at home until she moved into the tiny apartment at the back of the Honky Tonk beer joint. Now she figures she's here to stay, loving every minute of the rowdy crowd, down-home juke box music, and constant pool tournaments- until in walks a ruggedly handsome oil man who tempts her to trade in the happiness she's found at the Honky Tonk for a life on the road with him.

Gorgeous and rich, Travis Henry travels the country unearthing oil wells and then moving on. Then the beautiful blue-eyed new owner of the Honky Tonk beer joint becomes his best friend and so much more. Sparks fly so bad they're likely to set fire to the beer joint, if the two don't go up in flames themselves first -but when his job is done in Texas, how is he ever going to hit the road without her?

HELL YEAH by Carolyn Brown is a contemporary romance set in today's time in Mingus, Texas. It is the second in the Honky Tonk series but can be read as a stand alone. It is well written with details and depth, although, it starts out a little slow it picks up quickly. The plot and characters are easy to follow and just as easy to fall in love with. It has romance, country music, line dancing, passion, sweet sensuality, danger, friends, finding your true love, adventure, ending your past and starting a new future with love and passion. The hero, Travis, is handsome, tall, sexy, tough, rich, wears glasses, is a petroleum engineer, a cowboy, enjoys country music and lusts after our heroine, Cathy. The heroine, Cathy, is tall, sexy, strong, owns the Honky Tonk, is a bartender, a accountant, smart, speaks her mind, tough, and has trust issues. She is Daisy from I Love This Bar's cousin. She had a bad experience with her ex, so comes to Mingus to begin over. Meets Travis, on New Year Eve, by him walking in and kissing her. Sparks fly between the two of them. Cathy is kidnapped by her ex, Travis goes to find her, together they go to settle problem with Cathy's ex. They are falling in love but each thinks the other would not give up their careers, or would become resentful of the other if they did. So Travis heads to Alaska while Cathy stays at the Honky Tonk, but all will not be lost......This is a sweet story with romance, coming together of two hearts and making their dreams come true together. The secondary characters are just as interesting and I am sure we will meet them again in the next installment of the Honky Tonk series. We also meet a newcomer to the bar, Larissa, who I hope will hear more of in the future. I would recommend this book and also if you have not read I Love This Bar pick it up also, you will not regret it, I don't think. This book was received for review and details can be found at Sourcebooks and My Book Addiction and More. ( )

I adored the first book in this series and this one was another winner. I was so happy to be carried back into this world that I didn't want to put it down. It was fun to reunite with the characters and see what they were up to. But...I was even happier to follow Cathy's story! (She was introduced toward the end of book 1) I also enjoyed meeting the new characters and getting to "know" them.

Cathy's story was great and just what I expected from Ms. Brown's writing. She can really make up some sexy cowboys! This series has been fantastic so far and I can't wait to read the next book! *Hat tip* to Carolyn Brown for this awesome country romance! ( )

Finally read a western and I enjoyed the ride. I had forgotten how much I enjoy contemporary romance.

This one is part of the Honky Tonk series, but they can be read as stand alone novels. So fear not people with OCD reading out of order issues. I did fine it was a new couple, a new start, but the same bar. But this is book 2, and there is a new owner of the Honky Tonk bar.

Cathy is running the place when handsome Travis Henry walks in. Sparks fly, but he is only there for a short period of time before moving on. She is not ready to fall for a guy, but who can say no to the electricity in the air.

Cathy was strong, and she had no trouble speaking her mind. She was a redneck woman and proud of it, and she loved her bar. She had also been hurt bad by a guy, and has trust issues. But she does lust after Travis. Oh yes Travis, handsome as the devil, but a total nerd who loves rock and wears glasses, oh and he is a cowboy too of course. Be still my heart. He wanted her, and he kept coming back.

This was a sweet romance book with a passion building up between these two. They didn't jump right on it, but it took some time. First they become friends, then something more. There is also a bunch of other characters, all with charm, and the next heroine is being introduced, and I am sure she is gonna have one good book too.

I may not have known any of the songs mentioned, or anything about oil, or line dancing, but who cares, cos this book was sweet, and it made me want to walk into a western bar and have a look for myself what the deal was.

Final thoughts; Yes, I'd read more.
