Wait one second please...*ROTFLOL, series of giggle fits---gets up, fixes clothes and clears throat* Ahem. Okay, all set. This book was not at all good, the pig was annoying and pesky and totally not funny......darn. I just can't seem to lie today.

Here is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth:::
THIS BOOK IS FABULOUSLY HILARIOUS!!!! I love a good comedy, especially when it involves words and writing. That pig is so darn cute!! I just want to hug him for being such an awesome book character. -not to mention awesome writer- =) Such a fun read..especially when I get to watch my little sister stomp around in an upset state due to her STRONG disapproval of this book.
"Excuse me, but who do you think you are, opening this book when the cover clearly says, DO NOT OPEN THIS BOOK? The reason you weren't supposed to open this book is because it is not yet written!...You think it's easy to put words together? Hah! Now go away--I need time to think." So begins Pig's valiant attempt to pen his masterpiece. But he is constantly interrupted by the reader who is seduced at every turn into foiling his efforts ("please go away" "please do not turn the page")--until at last we reach the final page & discover that together, Pig & the reader have indeed created a book.
One of the early 'meta' books. A little hostile; right from the start the pig-elf-author tells us that we're being "rude." Not my favorite of this now-crowded field, but not bad.
Don’t say you weren’t warned! You really ought not to open this book. The story has not been written yet and if the interruptions continue, it might never be complete. The harangued author is still deciding which words to use and where to place them. Comical situations are inspiring for young writers who may just have their own story to tell.
Humorous story of a pig trying to write a story and can't because the "reader" will not go away and leave him alone to write. In the end the pig discovers that all his fussing has actually helped create the story. Although the pig is thankful, he still wants the "reader" to GO AWAY. Good book to read when teaching students how to compose a story.
A cute little book about a big who does not want the reader to open the book because he is trying to write it. It contains lots of words that would be fun to have students in a class read. There is even a part where students can fill their names in the blank places. I would recommend this as a fun book to read with younger students.
I liked how the spider and fly thing were on EVERY PAGE of this book. Sometimes the fly and spider say something or are doing something, and sometimes the page directs you to look at them. But the rest of the page has you interacting and some might not notice the spider and fly. I enjoyed that. As well as the whole book being about why you opened the book when it said not to.
