A boy cursed by a demon gets caught up in a war between humans and gods.

It's hard to say why I'm only giving it 3 stars. There isn't anything wrong with it that I can pin down. It's a very entertaining, extremely well-made movie. But for whatever reason, I just don't feel the need to single it out as "great." I would probably feel differently if I were more of an animation buff.
A fun mix of historical fiction and fantasy that explores the struggle between preserving nature, and industrialization/technology.
Ashitaka, a prince of the disappearing Emishi people, is cursed by a demonized boar god and must journey to the west to find a cure. Along the way, he encounters San, a young human woman fighting to protect the forest, and Lady Eboshi, who is trying to destroy it. Ashitaka must find a way to bring balance to this conflict.
