The final installment in Dee Davis's Last Chance series focuses on British MI6 agent, Nigel Ferris, and photojournalist Melissa Hope, the woman with whom he had an intense affair with 15 years earlier. Nigel and Melissa are reunited when the cases they are each assigned coincide and they must work together to stop a deadly threat.

Nigel and Melissa have excellent chemistry and their initial scene together is definitely the most fiery in the series. The two work well together to overcome the obstacles to their relationship and there is, thankfully, no unnecessary angst.

The suspense plot is comprised of several threads that ultimately come together although it does get confusing at times trying to keep track of the various villains and their agendas. The primary villain is particularly menacing and the climax and resolution are intense and exciting.

Davis's writing style is good overall, but she does have a tendency toward over-description, which can slow the pacing during the action scenes.

In sum, this is an enjoyable series recommended for fans of romantic suspense.

This is another good book in the A-Tac series, but this one breaks from the well-used formula. Both main characters work for A-Tac and are tracking a serial killer. This time the mystery doesn't involve the dreaded Consortium, or does it? Another good read in this series by Dee Davis.

Another good read in the A-Tac series. The only complaint I have is that this series seems to follow a formula. Good guy with baggage works for A-Tac. Girl with questionable motives is in trouble. Guy falls for girl and saves her from trouble. It's not a bad formula and works in the novels in this series, but sometimes it becomes tedious when reading the entire series all in a row.
