About meAmateur naturalist, introvert, bibliophile, and aspiring writer living in British Columbia, Canada. Generally more comfortable with books, cats, and trees than I am with other human beings. Obsessed with making lists. Fond of semicolons and parentheses. I read an alarming number (usually 150+) of books in a year. 25 or 50 book challenges? Those are a joke, right?

About my libraryConstantly pulled between the two ideals of a huge library that contains thousands of books and a tiny library that contains only my most favourite books. Probably leaning more towards the former even as I admire the latter...

All of the books in the "my library" collection are books that I own real, physical copies of. In theory, I keep only the books that I am likely to re-read. Once I remove a book from my physical library, I also remove it from my LibraryThing catalog. Recently, I have been focusing on thinning out my collection to make room for new books, but curiously, the number of books I own only ever seems to increase.

The "Wishlist" collection is not my entire wishlist (which is way too long), but only those books that I am most interested in right now.

Some explanation of my ratings (mostly as a reminder to myself):
- 5 stars: books that I really, really love
- 4 or 4 1/2 stars: good books that I like a lot
- 3 or 3 1/2 stars: a decent book but one that I don't personally enjoy OR a book that is obviously not great literature but that I am fond of nonetheless OR some combination of the above possibilities
- 2 or 2 1/2 stars: a book that I didn't care for and that is not that great, but that still might have some value for someone, somewhere
- 1 or 1 1/2 stars: not a good book, probably not worth reading
- 1/2 star: truly abysmal
