Hi April,

just posted on the Murder and Mystery in Ancient Japan thread, I continued on with Rowland. The Fire Kimono is very much worth a read.

cheers
Hi,

Was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Saw you liked Faulkner and thought you might like my book since it's also southern and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like. Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Wonderful library, love to meet another Georgette Heyer fan. May I suggest the Bone Doll's Twin by Lynn Flewelling? Great trilogy.
Hey, April...

Great to hear from you. Thanks for the invitation. It's been a slow summer for reading. I'm half-way through Stephanie Meyer's sci-fi book called "The Host". I've also started "The Sandman" series of graphic novels by Neil Gaiman. I haven't yet continued with the Vorkosigan Saga as I am in a mode where I'm sampling different authors to flag as potential new favorites. Lois McMaster Bujold is definitely on the list. I tend to savor an author I like and spread the readings out over time.

I also have to get back to studying for an online temperament theory certification course I'm taking. I'm a little behind in my study reading just because I'm in summer mode.

Hope you're having a great summer so far,

Hello!
On the RBW mailing list, you mentioned you were here on LT, so I popped over here to say hello. We have 149 books in common!
Hey, aprillee!

Thanks for your message in the Vorkosigan thread. I'm still reading it... great stuff! I'm a little slow going at the moment as there are other things on my plate. I just finished a book called People Patterns by Stephen Montgomery. It was required reading for an online certifiaction course I'm taking in Temperamnet Theory. I mention it because I noticed that you're in the "Myers-Briggs: All Types" group. Do you know what temperament you are? I'm an INFJ (Idealist Counselor).

Some of your favorite authors are on my list to read more from. I haven't read any Cherryh yet... in fact I haven't read a lot of Sci-Fi. Shame on me, I know.

Have a great day!

Not at all, snoop away - there's very little of interest of there, I'm still struggling to produce something vaguely interesting to say about myself and hunting down weird groups to join. I always feel like a a complete Oxford fraud anyway because everyone else in that group looks horrendously highbrow and one of the things cataloguing my bookshelves has taught me is that I read a tremendous amount of trash! But the truly tragic thing is how few people I have to enthuse about my trash with - this is the price for having a friendship group comprised mainly of male scientists.

Actually I'm really amused you're an old RPG-soc person; my boyfriend was one of its leading lights (well...) when he was at university. He wrote their current LARP system. Isn't Oxford the tiniest world? It reaches out to you, even across an ocean!

I'm definitely considering Carol Berg now - but my books-to-read pile is getting insane, not helped by the fact I just ordered Monette's wolf book and a couple of other things from Amazon.
