API easy linking with ISBN works randomly - mostly doesn't

I've been testing the Easy Linking urls for LibraryThing that uses the isbn to get the book's page. For example: http://www.librarything.com/isbn/9780374280598 . It works 1-3 times and then I get the http://www.librarything.com/verify.php 404 page with the "Sorry, but the page you requested can't be found." message. If I wait several hours it seems to work once or twice again and then the same thing happens. What's up?

It's intended to be useful. It's not intended to be hit 24/7 by a bot. The number of hits you can do is, however, before things get triggered ad you have to verify again is much higher than 3.

Just tried it again. It worked three times and then fails.
