I didn't understand what was the difference between TravelCAT and GeoCAT so I voted Yes for both. :)
21VivienneR
I guess the difference is up to the person who made the suggestion. As I understood it, GeoCAT refers to areas of the world, TravelCAT is more about travelling. I hope I'm right.

>21 VivienneR: That's how I understood it, as well (though as I was voting, I had to look back in the original discussion thread!)

>20 chlorine:, >21 VivienneR: I made the TravelCAT suggestion, so here are my thoughts. I was thinking of something that allowed a bit more variety than just geographic locations. Here is what I was thinking about as monthly topics, which sort of combines some other CAT suggestions.
A travel narrative
Related to food or drink from a specific location/country/region
Festival or event
Occurring or related to each of the continents (Asia, Europe, South America, North America, and so on, which would cover seven months)
In translation
Related to a place where you do not live
Related to a place you would like to visit
Modes of transportation (sea, air, rail, driving, etc)
Myths or legends from a specific region/country/location

>23 LadyoftheLodge: Thanks, the difference between the two is clearer for me now!

Reminder that the polls close tomorrow night, Sunday, November 10, at midnight Pacific Standard Time. So if you haven't yet cast a vote, now's the time to do so! :)
26pamelad
Just checked on what time is is there on the Pacific coast. From my frame of reference in Melbourne it's still yesterday there, with 4 hours to go before the voting ends.

It's 6:35 a.m. PST on Monday 11 November, so voting is closed. I will tabulate the results shortly.

Many thanks to Vivienne for getting the ball rolling and setting up the planning and voting threads!
She's having surgery this week, so please send her your best vibes.

Thanks, everyone who participated. I am excited about getting started!

Thank you rabbitprincess for taking over for me. And thank you for all your good wishes. I was given a reprieve, sent home to wait for surgery that has been rescheduled to the end of the month. But it sure wrecked my reading plans this month.
Looking forward to reading from our new CATs next year!

>33 VivienneR: I am glad you're back! Although that must be stressful, having to be ready for surgery and then being told you have to wait. Hope you have time to stockpile books for the rescheduled surgery and recovery time.
