From the era when the trend was to be more metaphysical, spiritual, and *L*iterary. Quality stuff, but not enjoyable, and, actually, pretty much 'yucky.' And many were surprisingly sexist - not excusable in the 1960s. ( ) The first collection of Nebula winners, and what a year 1965 was: Zelazny's "The Doors of His Face, the Lamps of His Mouth" (Best Novelette) and "He Who Shapes" (tied for Best Novella), Ellison's "Repent, Harlequin" (Best Short Story), Aldiss's "The Saliva Tree" (tied for Best Novella)... and for Best Novel, Dune!
