I loved this book way more than I thought I would. I'm not usually into books by girls - for girls, but Hadley's particular brand of feminism comes with film studies and lipstick on the side. Laugh out loud funny in places (the Daily Mail headlines chapter) and had me questioning Ferris Bueller in a different way than I ever had before. You should eally read this. ( )

Decided to give up on this because I'm already plenty awesome and Hadley Freeman's writing is fucking annoying. Personally, telling other women what to do with their bodies and snarkily bitching about teenage girls she considers to have been "slutty" is not my idea of feminism. ( )

It is wedged awkwardly in the gap between the media of print and internet, and this makes for a sometimes frustrating but ultimately surreal and interesting read
