The first really serious study of British military music. Since publication, the internet has arrived and much
material not available to this author is now freely accessible - for example, Thompsons 'Complete Tutor for
the Fife', The John Buttrey MS, etc. Nevertheless, this was a ground-breaking publication in its day and is
still relevant - well worth having a copy on your shelf.

Includes scores for 50+ tunes - arranged for piano (though fife/flute would have been better).

The accompanying record 'Songs and Music of the Redcoats (ARGO) featuring Martin Wyndham-Reade,
The Druids and the Band of the Scots Guards is worth tracking down... ( )
