Three beings flee the destruction of Babel, a massive space habitat: Quivera, a human diplomat from Europa, 'Uncle Vanya', an insectoid alien wanting to preserve a 'library' about Babel and a spacesuit, worn by Quivera, but containing the personality of Rosamund, his ex-lover, just killed in the fall of Babel.
