**I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal)**

I did have a hard time to fully get into it, but once I did get past a few chapters I enjoyed it (I think my difficulty is mainly because I'm enjoying sci-fi right now and giving UF and paranormal a rest). The world was very easy to understand and the author did well with telling and showing the reader what kind of world Magic Resistant is. I liked how she wrote how magic works and how magical and show more non-magical people live together. I really like the use of technology is the magical world~ it's sometimes disregarded it other UF books.

About Julia
I really like how Julia had to hide her nature because she's magically resistant. The corruption and the cruelty in her world was written well. I liked how Jackson and Julia were the ones who had to expose and fight against the magical community, their relationship happened a little to fast for me though. I thought their attraction for each other and their first impressions of each other was too "oh wow this person is awesome". They saw in each other only the good qualities and I couldn't buy into it as much...


Overall, it looks like it will be a good series and I'll mostly likely read it because of the ending. show less

Very good - review will be coming eventually since I'm so slow to review anymore - but quick thoughts. This was a delightful change from a typical UF and there's a few twists at the end. The main character is special but for morbid reasons that don't necessarily mean anyone wants her because of that uniqueness - in fact it deters some. I definitely didn't expect a certain betrayal and twist during that last chapter, yikes. Not sure where the series will go from here but I'll be on board to show more check it out when the next book is released. show less
