This is a very good account of one fighter pilot’s service during the Battle of Britain. It was written well after events when the author found his letters to his parents written during events. This makes for an interesting blend of ‘in the moment’ and long view perspective combined with memory jogs from the author’s correspondence bringing back forgotten episodes. This is a very thorough and worthwhile read.
What's incredible in this book is the network the author has and his ability to use it - as well as all the flying stuff of course.
Well worth a read if you've any interest in aviation or WWII.
