Skinny Quilts by Kim Schaefer contains twelve little quilt projects that can be used as table runners, wall quilts or bed runners. Schaefer’s Skinny Quilts are bright and easy to make, even for a beginner. Skinny Quilts are very contemporary, and will look nice in any color scheme.
Schaefer first includes directions for making quilts in Skinny Quilts. She covers cutting, piecing, fusible appliqué and more.
My favorite quilt is titled “Leaves” and the parts of the leaves are large, and show more they are appliquéd to a background and border. The blocks in this quilt measure 16”. I would enjoy making the quilt just because of its simplicity and ease of producing it.
Skinny Quilts is a good book for anyone wanting a fast project or anyone just learning to quilt. The quilts are fun and would good in any contemporary setting.

Cozy Modern Quilts will help you do just that! I love the simple patterns in each of the projects. Kim Schaefer shows us 23 pieced quilts that look complex, but are so easy to make. There are quilts, wall hangings, table runners, and placemats...projects to fit in every quilter's time. I recommend this book for anyone with an overflowing fabric closet.

‘Bright and Bold, Cozy Modern Quilts’ by Kim Schaefer is popular book with patterns using the modern quilt theme. ‘Modern’ quilts are usually geometric designed quilts made with plain or color-on-color fabrics, or made with only one print, which is the theme and color palette of the quilt and plain fabrics for the rest of the blocks. Geometric prints can also be used in these quilts.
Schaefer has written several books, all very popular. Schaefer manages to design quilts that are show more bright, and scrappy and fun! Cozy Modern Quilts begins with general quilting instructions for beginners. All of the patterns in the book have instructions that are easy to follow and suitable for beginning quilters, but fun for intermediate stitchers, too.

ewww. all the things I find objectionable about 'modern' quilts, in one place. the vermicular quilting on every project (all look the same) is the MOST awful part.
