This book brings together in one volume the best current knowledge of what assessment methods work best and how their principles should be incorporated into all effective assessment efforts, whether at institutional, program, or department levels.
A great resource for anyone - those newer to assessment and those who have been carefully developing assessments for decades. This book has sections on planning and implementing assessment as well as sections devoted to assessment in the various disciplines. One extremely well-written section is devoted to assessment in general education/core curricula/liberal arts education. This section is divided into the type of learning expected (e.g., critical thinking, writing, etc.) as well as means show more of collecting/using that data (direct, indirect, portfolio, etc.). show less
