This was a bit of an overly sweet romance for my tastes. For many, that will be a good thing, as my GR friend Heller has already mentioned in the comments. The two MCs both have inta-families, MC Ryland has a 4 year old daughter and MC Finn has a 4 year old niece, both are looking for long term relationships and there is an evil presence lurking in the background, stalking Finn which puts Ryland's protective instincts on alert and throws the relationship into overdrive quickly. Perfect show more formula for a page turning romance, but it just didn't work for me. The love happened too fast, there were too many "evil" secondary characters to choose from to be the villain and the The Big Happy Family! storyline was too sugary.
If that sounds like something you'd enjoy, then go for it! It just wasn't for me. This probably would have worked much better has a novella. But at 130 pages, I kinda felt like it was never gonna end. show less
