A good enough retelling of the old and rather improbable story, and the colorful pictures convey it well.
I have always wondered at the blatant anomalies and contradictions in the plot, but they don't detract from the reader's schadenfreude-istic enjoyment of the gnome's come-uppance at the end.
For instance, if the miller's daughter could spin straw into gold, why are they so poor?
If the gnome could spin straw into gold, why does he want her jewelry for the first two assists, and why does he show more want the child at all?
The prince and maiden are perfectly rational, but the outlook for their marriage once the gnome is not producing gold could be rocky..

I love that the queen was able to outsmart Rumpelstiltskin. This is a story that I will tell in the future. I love that even when all seemed lost the girl was able to succeed anyways.
