I was a little worried it might be like Harry Potter but I still got it as I like the Jason Steed series by Mr Cooper.

No it's not like Harry Potter, Archie Wilson has no magic powers, no broom stick and does not go to Hogwarts. But it is as good as Harry Potter.

Archie Wilson is wicked, I really liked it and read it twice.

Archie has to move to Scotland, a place called Foyers and its next to Loch Ness. Archie falls in and is drawing but something saved him. he wakes up in a secret under water show more cavern. Living there is Sporrans, yep Sporrans those fluffy white things that hand from Scottish mens Kilts. But these are real Sporrans still alive, they live hidden and in secret with Gordon. Who is Gordon. This bit was very funny.

“Em. Are you the Loch Ness Monster?” Archie stuttered shuffling back a step.
“Aghhh! M, M, Monster. Monster.” Gordon shrieked, he turned his huge body and run further down the cavern to a boulder no more than six feet tall in the center, Gordon hid behind it.

Yep Gordon is the Loch Ness Monster but he is afraid of monsters, lol and if you say the word Monster he runs away.

Anyway, this nasty creature called the Nuckelavee is trying to come back and take over the planet. He has the help of Gargoyles the old ones on church roof tops. Archie and his friends the Sporrans must stop it.

Also Archie has a new friend called Chloe, I think she likes him.

Also Rob Roy MacGregor is still alive and 300 years old. I won't spoil the ending but its classic.

I was not sure if I would like this or not. I like the authors Jason Steed series and was not quite sure what this would be like.
Archie Wilson is fantastic, one of my favorites, it took me back to Harry Potter, but Archie can;t do magic, it is a nice story about a boy who has to move to Scotland to live with his dad, they live on the edge of Loch Ness. Yes you can guess who Archie Wilson meets, but he also meets Gargoyles and Sporrans, it is very funny, a little scary in one chapter and show more exciting. show less
Jason goes undercover in a juvenile detention facility to make friends with Andrew Cho whose father is part of a diabolical plan to get people hooked on drugs by putting them into a popular breakfast cereal. Once Jason has passed all of his tests with Cho's family, it is decided that he can be an asset to them, so Jason begins his undercover work to find out who is behind the drugs and how they can be stopped. Jason's efforts work almost too well, and it isn't long before he is on the show more run.

Revenge is a very problematic book. There are major issues with pacing and content. For a middle grade book, there are a large number of adult themes and ideas. Action and adventure dominate the story, but the inclusion of so much death is disturbing. Jason once again does amazing things, especially for someone his age, but as in the first book in the series, it would be so much better if Jason was aged up a few years to make the impossible seem a little more within the realm of believability. Overall, the story in Revenge is built on an absurd plot with underdeveloped and underage characters.

On LibraryThing I wrote "An exciting adventure story that is inappropriate for its target audience because of its casual homophobia. I also disliked the clumsy caricatures of members of the royal family."
