When I was mapping out our road trip, I was really frustrated and disappointed with this book. I felt like it was full of places we had no intention of going to. But the beauty of the book really shined when we are on the road and I realized we can't be in The Big Places everyday. There are amazing things to find along the journey and this book provided so many little gems. A definite must for The Road.
I’ve been a fan of Roadtrip USA for many years and I look forward to each new edition that hits the bookstore. This voluminous tome is jam packed with valuable information for road trippers (there isn’t an ounce of fluff between the covers). The book covers eleven major trips across the United States from the obvious (Route 66 and the Pacific Coast Highway) to the hidden (Routes 20, 83 and 93). Jensen provides readers with maps, photos and advice on making the most of traveling these show more roads. No self-respecting road tripper should be without this book in the glove compartment! show less
A small but mighty travel guide for the famous Route 66! Superbly detailed with state-by-state directions to great eats, awesome attractions, and of course all the classic kitschy Americana you can dream of. I will definitely be using this when I (someday!) drive the Mother Road.
A great introduction to the many cross-country road trip routes. I'm a little surprised at how many routes I've done already!
