I LOVE Vernant ~ &, judging by the titles on my shelves, realise how much I've relied on his work in Classical Studies, inc. his brilliant vol., 'Myth & Society in Ancient Greece'. However, with translation of so many non-English works, much depends on the translator.
'Mortals & Immortals' is necessary for any student of ancient Greek religion.
