The Littlest Dinosaurs by Bernard Most was a very interesting text. The author captured my attention through adding phonetics to the spelling of the dinosaurs and creating the text as an informational text. By adding a phonetic way of spelling, it allowed me to not only learn about different types of dinosaurs but how to pronounce them. The mix between the educational text and the fantasy of the pictures was really intriguing because it made me think about what would happen if we still had show more dinosaurs today. The author does a good job of gaining the students attention through a dual page layout and positive, warm colors. The artistic style really makes the idea of dinosaurs living among us seem like a normal idea. show less
This book introduces dinosaurs to young children. It gives the names and pronunciations of dinosaurs with very colorful pictures illustrated by the author himself. Even though this books gives very little information about the dinosaurs, I would still use it in my class to introduce students to dinosaurs and let them have fun finding a dinosaur they like and putting their name to it. I would also have students draw a picture of their dinosaur that is named after them so we could make our own show more class book. show less
I never got the love for dinosaurs. Yet this book made me like them. The child who I showed this book to did not know how to read but was able to tell a story based on the pictures. The author also has a added feature called "Extra Things" in which you can take words from each letter from the alphabet ex: A and try to find all the things that are featured in the A ex: apples. Tres Cool.
This is a book about the courage to become a bilingual farm animal. It's really funny and a great chance for kids to practice their farm animal noises.

P.S. I think it's funny that the goat says "nanny" and the frog says "gribet." Gribet? What happened to ribbit?
