Tugg and Teeny are delightful characters that live deep in the jungle. One day Teeny can't find his lucky writing hat. They decide to play detectives to find the hat. Then they find Pinkie Flamingo who has lost her prettiest feather. They continue their hunt to find Flap the Elephant who has lost his umbrella. The four friends continue to search until they come upon Margie Barge (who is a hippo). She lost her inner tube! Everyone in the jungle is losing things! Where could they all be? This show more team tries to work together to solve the mystery. I won't give away the answer but it's a fun problem to solve. There are two more entertaining chapters after that first mystery as well. On the cover it states that this book would be good for Grades 2-3. I think this book would keep new readers interest. They will want to continue reading to find out what happens. The characters are engaging and will entertain. I would suggest this book to 7-8 years old. show less
Tugg, a gorilla, and Teeny, a monkey, are the stars of this early reader, which actually contains three short stories of the duo’s adventures. Christopher Denise’s illustrations are bright and engaging and are sure to be a hit. The storylines are a bit bland, though, and may not hold all readers’ imaginations. The text and illustrations are cute but, taken together, are not always as in sync with each other as they could be. Still, this book is sure to be a delight for animal lovers, show more and fans have two other titles in the series to read. For ages 6-8. Additional purchase. show less
I loved looking at and reading this book. It was a short, sweet, rhyming book with brightly colored, simple, but very detailed illustrations on each and every page. It was definitely an interactive book for young children because they rhymes were like riddles hinting at what it was describing but the child could identify what the author was describing by looking at the picture.
Said a riddle of different animals and had a picture of all or part of the animal on each page so you could guess show more what the riddle was talking about. show less
