Overall, I love The Abundance Project. I'm a bit biased however; I've read much of Derek's previous work and subscribe to his newsletter. With that in mind, I did find section 3 a bit repetitious in that I've read it before in another format. Section 2 had me truly confused in places, unable to focus, as if I was re-reading the same passages... and I was. Minor editing required there.
For the most part however, this book is brilliant. For those familiar with new thought, or spiritual show more practices, but can't for the life of them figure out why all their meditating, praying, affirmations and Law of Attraction work aren't "working", this is the book for you. Hands down.
It is a bit dense in places, and while I wanted to read it all the way through, I just couldn't. A book that would normally take me a night or two to read (based on length) has taken me well over a week, and I'm still not finished. Lots of thought-provoking passages, shifts, and new ways of thinking here... yet not so much that it's overwhelming or defeatist.
I'd easily buy this book as a gift, for clients and friends, and will likely buy my own copy as well once it's released for future reference. (I was given early access in exchange for my honest review). show less

This book deals with a subject of vital interest to me and is seemingly filled with good information and exercises.
The only problem was that I found it difficult to read and get through so I gave it up. Perhaps the information in the book was too concentrated so I couldn’t take it all in; not to mention getting through the exercises.
I found one basic principle I knew and was now reminded of:
“Anytime we make someone or something outside of us our source of supply (or anything else) the show more universe is set up to fail in that area.”
I had previously understood from other authors that God is the source of our supply, and our job or whatever is only a channel through which money comes, and Derek has a chapter about this too, though I didn’t get to it.
Derek attempts to help us to really believe that the source of our abundance is within us, always available.
There’s a chapter about the five abundance blind spots.
Blind spot No. 1 is “We are separate from our good and must get it, achieve it, or attract it.”
Blind spot No. 2 is: “Money and material things are wealth.”
Blind spot No, 3 is: “You have to believe to receive.”
Blind spot No. 4 is: “You have to adapt to circumstances.”
And, finally, blind spot No, 5 is: “Money/wealth is not spiritual.”
I didn’t get any further in the book, though it really does seem to contain valuable and viable information about how to find the abundance within ourselves.
It may help many readers; it may be that I just wasn’t ready to work with what the author had to offer. show less
