It’s time to get ready for Shabbat and this brother-sister team are more than eager to help. Once the sun starts to set and the Shabbat chores are finished, it’s time to set the table. The fresh challah begs to be nibbled and―oops―there goes the wine. All two-legged and four-legged friends are welcome for Shabbat dinner. As night descends on the city, the home is cozy and aglow with the special light of Shabbat.
This story is so adorable, Jackson has a special blanket that goes everywhere with him but his parents think its time for Jackson to get rid of his blanket. One day playing out in the snow Jackson finds a kitty cat, who needs the blanket more than him. This story is great to warm your heart and teach children about sharing while getting to see a very cute relationship between a boy and his kitten.
This is a great contemporary realistic fiction book because it is an adorable story about growing up and sharing which will touch readers with its simple telling and warm, heartfelt illustrations. Children are easily able to relate to this realistic story of how hard it can be to give up things that are important to you or that you may have an attachment to. The theme of sharing towards the end of the book encourages children to give up and share what we have with the less fortunate and that show more we have so much else to be thankful for. The main character discovered that it is so easy to make this world a better place which is a great theme that encourages others to do the same. show less
