Cite Your Sources: A Manual for Documenting Family Histories and Genealogical Records by Richard S. Lackey
Mr. Lackey's brief and very concise explanation of how to effectively cite sources for genealogical research was published thirty years ago. Today's genealogist will probably find it needing an update to cover internet databases, Google Books and email, but it does give a good framework to use. I wish my relatives who wrote family histories had used this book.
Cite Your Sources: A Manual for Documenting Family Histories and Genealogical Records by Richard S. Lackey
Although somewhat supplanted by Elizabeth Shown Mills's EVIDENCE, this is still an excellent manual for documenting genealogical research in books and manuscripts.
Cite Your Sources: A Manual for Documenting Family Histories and Genealogical Records by Richard S. Lackey
Before Elizabeth Shown Mills and her great books on Evidence and Sources, there was Richard S. Lackey. It has very good examples of citation forms, and is a good easy reference when you are documenting your genealogy.
