My gods the fanservice. I mean I know it's a manga, and therefore rife with fanservice almost universally, but sometimes it just bothers me more than others. Why, in a comic about an online game, would you decide to have your 14-year-old girl character take a shower, and bring her gaming device into the shower with her. The constant panty shots are one thing, but do we really need a panel in which only a splash of water obscures her (remember: 14-year-old) crotch from our view? Was that show more vital to the story somehow? Ugh. show less

If you are a follower of the .hack series, you might want to grab this one. If you're not... don't bother (with this one, you might want to pick up the conglomerate from the start). This is being the weirdest .hack series to me so far, I'm not sure where it is heading or how will it develop. If the series continue being as the two first books are, then you'll read it all and end up with literally nothing (well, except for the annoyingly huge amount of fan service). My hopes are in the show more feeling that... it simply can't be "just this", so the series might end up being good (or so that's my hope...). show less
