You never know when you’re going to get lucky at a casino. But the last thing Kian expected to find on his weekend gambling trip was his mate. When the nine hundred year old werewolf is served his drink by Jorja the cocktail waitress, his naughty wolf takes over. One moment she’s beside him and the next he’s pulling her onto his lap and kissing her senseless. His mating instincts combined with his overindulgence in alcohol kick his need show more to claim her into overdrive.
The searing kiss Kian places on Jorja makes her head spin and flight instincts activate. She’d noticed the sinfully sexy man when she first started her shift. But never in a millions years would she have imagined they’d be making out in the middle of her shift for all to see. When common sense takes hold and she pulls his skilled mouth away from hers she flees. She finds herself pleasantly surprised when Kian finds her later and extends an invitation she can’t resist.
Kudos to Ms. Chenery for creating such a wonderful dynamic between Jorja and Kian! I loved seeing the masculine male fall under the spell of sweet and slightly shy Jorja. I really believed their whirlwind romance. Which was quite a feat considering this tale was sixty-five pages long. I’ll be the first to admit I’m a bit of a sucker for a were whose met their mate. It takes the concept of love at first sight to a whole other level.
The sex between Kian and Jorja simmered up off the page, and the problems the couple faced had me worried about my HEA. ( Yes Ms. Chenery did her job well!) I would’ve liked to read more about what happened to the couple after the weekend, and how well Jorja assimilated into her new world. But all in all this was a great read. If you’re looking for something short and spicy this is the perfect choice. show less

Nika Ryder owns and operates a pub in England. She had bought the pub with her ex boyfriend that she met in the states. He left her for another woman and now Nika is running the pub herself.
Garrick is an immortal werewolf warrior. He is over 1000 years old and lives in a mansion with his brothers-in-arms. Their job is to hunt and kill Fenris werewolves on the first full moon. These werewolves can’t be saved because they only want human flesh.
Garrick goes into Nika’s pub for a drink and show more finds his mate instead. Her smell rushes to his head and he wants her but she won’t give him the time of day. This is odd considering that he is such a ladies’ man and never has a hard time getting what he wants. He threatens to bug her each night until she relents and admits that she wants him. He just hopes that his friends don’t see him grovel. Nika is attracted to Garrick but after a rough break up with her last boyfriend she just wants to go home to the states and doesn’t need the complications that Garrick will obviously bring to her life. Like Garrick promised, he bugs her at work and at home until she gives in to him. Not only do his friends find out about his problem in wooing his mate from the get go but his enemy also notices. What happens when an immortal werewolf warrior loses his mate? He goes through anyone that gets in his way to get her back, of course.
Reluctantly His by Marisa Chenery is the third book of her series, Wolves of East Anglia. I was not fortunate to read the first two prior to this one. I have however remedied that once it was finished. The best books are of the male hero that thinks he is god’s gift to woman but instead comes up against a woman that won’t fall at his feet. Garrick is that man and it was so fun to watch him work for it. Nika is that woman and she is just attracted to him, if not more, but won’t let herself take what she wants. She doesn’t want the pain that she thinks goes with it. What she finds instead is a man that can possibly be her one and true mate.

Ms. Chenery takes the reader on a more enjoyable ride in this installment to the Big City Pack series. The story line is once again, one of erotic desire and carnal passion.
Sierra is ready to branch out on her and not have to be her brother's keeper. When she comes across a wolf on the hiking trail at her cousin's wedding......well, she'd never dream in a million years that it would be the man of her show more dreams.
Cale is a character that you'll instantly fall in love with. He's a charmer, in every sense of the word, and he's determined to prove that Sierra is his mate. But when she denies him after he turns.....well, he has no choice but to force a drastic, most unpleasant way on her so she'll realize that it's meant to be forever.
This was a good installment to the series, and while I didn't like Werewolf's treasure quite as much as this one, I am still looking forward to going back and reading more to this series. Definitely recommend this one if you love that carnal passion in a quick read! show less

This book left me wanting so much more. When the couple meets each other it is really hard to understand the attraction. Werewolves mate fast. We all know that. The need for their mate is supposed to be overwhelming but not to the point where they might hurt their mate. I like that about werewolves. This story really tried really hard to get me to believe that for these characters. But it fell a little flat for me. The human wants to show more wait. Ok. He's not a werewolf and doesn't understand. Ok. But when the big moment finally comes... I think I was expecting to be overwhelmed... like I was told to wait for something and wanted it to be all the more awesome when it finally happened. The anticipation was supposed to make it better. It didn't. It made me feel cheated. All this is trying to ignore the really cheesy dialogue and two dimensional characters. A character is supposed to grow. That's what makes characters we love and want to read again and again. A werewolf simply getting a mate isn't growth. Saving the mate from death isn't growth. It is supposed to be a catalyst for growth- not the growth itself. Which is why so many stories are plot based- it's easier to write. I didn't see the growth here. I may be wrong in this. If you think so, comment below and let me know where you think the growth is. I will take another look at the story. I promise. show less
