This book about plants and their roots is very kid friendly. The world are large, simple, and to the point. Kids of all ages could use this book to discover the basics and purpose of roots. The pictures are incredible and show great detail on every page.
The book Leaves by Vijaya Khisty Bodach is a simple read about leaves. In this book, it talks about a leaves purpose and the types of leaves. It has great pictures to go with the content being read on each page, which provides a visual support for struggling readers. There is a glossary at the end of the book with a few challenging words for this text level. However, the words found in the glossary are not highlighted or bolded in the text. Their is an index at the end of the book, which show more provides a great opportunity to introduce this feature of an informational text to kids. Overall, I do not think this book would be the first one I choose for introducing the features of an informational text in a read aloud setting. Although, this could be a simple read for kindergarteners or first grades about leaves with some informational text features. show less
This book explains shapes, numbers, and fractions at a very simple level. This would be a great tool to have when introducing fractions to a younger grade.
This book teaches about leaves, their purpose, and the different kinds of leaves.
