Ordering: A Season in My Garden by Kenneth Pobo
Why are you waiting to read this book? It combines careful observation of the natural world with a seemingly effortless command of the English language. On the surface it is about gardening, but that is only the metaphor--the excuse, if you will; it's really about anything to which one devotes one's time (like writing or friendship or love) without any guarantee of results, simply because one likes the exercise, the activity involved. A truly brilliant book.
