This is one of the most inspiring books I ever read. I don't follow UFC or any other fighting sports; as a matter of fact, I didn't know about Rousey until a recent interview in The Tonight Show where the book was presented. I added to my queue just to read something different (I don't normally read biographies). I can say I'm glad I added the book and read it. Rousey struggles in and outside of the octagon, her hard work and dedication, and her focus on winning are an inspiring story that show more everybody should read.

This book is a must read for all teenage girls out there even if they are not interested in the sport. The book is a great example of how hard women have to work to make it in a men's world, and the importance of believing in your-self and your abilities. Rousey's courage to pursue her dreams against all odds makes her a role model for all young girls out there. More Rousey and less Kardashians. show less

I wouldn't call this book the highest literature, exactly, but it is a very interesting look at one of the most powerful fighters in the UFC today [man or woman]. Comparing this book to George St. Pierre's recent book is a study in contrasts - GSP is all about crafting the brand. Rousey is all about giving you a peek under the tent, warts and all. From stories about her smelly car to childhood fights to her family life this book was a fascinating - if quick - read.

I don't know what drew me in to this book initially, but I think this might be the book that sticks with me in 2016. First, it's a book that told me a lot of what I need to hear right now. Second, it taught me too care about things I don't understand. I feel life this book opened me up to exploring new ideas and listening to the ideas others put forth with greater respect. Finally, and ultimately, it reinforces what I feel about proving people wrong being the best form of revenge.
