Not bad. Interestingly, it took a lot of the tropes that annoy me in romances - paranormal or otherwise - and gave them enough of a twist that I enjoyed the story. Particularly, attracted bodyguard (he was strongly attracted, but managed, mostly, to still pay attention to his guarding job), and werewolf's destined mate (she had a destined mate, though she didn't know it, and picked her bodyguard instead - and the bonding happened after she knew). There were some holes in the story - that show more they didn't know about her before, and the whole thing with royal bloodlines anyway. And the "lost heir" bit at the end was hard to swallow - I'd have rather she just stuck to her guns. Still, it was a good romance and a good paranormal romance; an interesting world with well-written characters. I'll be looking for others in this series and by this author. show less
