I was really looking forward to Arabella and Finn's romance, but this let me down in a major way. Arabella and Finn spend basically every moment sniping at each other. By the end of the book, they say they love each other, but I don't see it. At all. There's also a really huge consent issue that is just brushed off, and I was not okay with how it was handled. Finn knows Arabella is his true mate, so the first time they kiss, they'll both go into the mating frenzy--where they're overcome by show more insatiable lust that doesn't go away until Finn impregnates someone and Arabella gets pregnant. Arabella does not realize Finn is her true mate, so she thinks if they kiss it'll just be a kiss. And Finn plans to kiss Arabella, knowing what the consequences will and knowing that she does not know what the consequences will be. That's not cool. That's the move of a villain, not the hero of the story. And Arabella, when she finds out what Finn's plan was, basically just tells him he he shouldn't have done that and then they move on. She barely even scolds him, throughout the book she's more upset--and more frequently upset--by Finn calling her by a pet name than she is by Finn's plan to bypass her consent and get her pregnant. You know what it is in real life when a man messes with a woman's birth control so she gets pregnant when she wasn't planning on it? Abuse. That is an act of abuse Finn was planning to do, and it is not okay for a romance novel to brush this off, especially when it occurs between the hero and heroine of the novel. show less
This is a trashy romance novel, but it's the kind of trashy romance novel I love - with headstrong characters that respect and love each other. I do feel like this book should come with a slight content warning because pregnancy is a strong theme in the book, and human/dragonshifter couplings only have a 50% survival rate for the human mother. Since it's a romance novel, the heroine and her offspring are fine, but it's a difficult birth and there's also a minor character who dies in show more childbirth offpage. I could easily see someone who's had issues with pregnancy/childbirth getting blindsided by these parts of the book. show less
Another Great Story

Pow, it starts off with Arabella and Fin are about to kiss when Aunt Lorna bursts through the door announcing Arabella's cottage has been broken into. Argh still no kiss!!! While Fin believes that Duncan is behind it,he orders Arabella to move in with him for her safety. She is furious about it. As they work towards finding the culprits, they also want to find out if they are true mates. The sexual banter between them is hilarious and the conversations between Arabella show more and her Dragon is cute. Will Fin quit fighting his Dragon push to bond with Arabella or will he keep' opening his mouth and inserting his foot'? Loved this book!! Get ready to love these two ,but also I will bet you yell at the end, lol show less
This was a lot of fun, she might be his fated mate but she's not going to take his shit. Also features moments where the heroine tells the hero that while he mightn't like it she was going to have interactions with other men and he was going to have to learn to live with it. YES!

In order to get a life-saving cancer treatment for her father, Holly Anderson offers herself up as a sacrificial child-bearer for some Scottish dragon-shifters. She knows that there is a possibility that she will show more die but it's worth the risk to her. However the man they have in mind isn't the man she's attracted to. His twin brother keeps attracting her attention and she's not sure if she wants to go ahead with the initial plan.

Entertaining light fun that could have done with a little more editing to smooth out the transitions. It's part of a larger series and in some places assumes you know the mythos behind the stories but as my first read by the author I found it interesting and am looking forward to more.
