The tragic death of her father leaves Grace traumatized and disinclined to do just about anything. Regan, her sister, on the other hand acted as if nothing had changed as she continued on with her daily routines. Regan, who is self-absorbed, induces Grace to adopt a dog at the pound with her, the idea being she would train it to be a service dog in order for her college application to be more appealing. Grace not caring much about the whole scheme of things, including the pound venture, show more never realizes her world is about to change when a dog speaks to her and say’s “pick me!” A triumphant story about coping with loss after a tragedy, being brave when surrounded by doubt and fear and believing in a cause that will better someone’s life if not your own. show less
"As if! Whatever. I'm Audi. Carpe Diem! And I'm all..." plus the question of whether one should date a boy who dresses better than you do (hmm, what will you then bring into the relationship?) These catch-phrases have been popularized by the movie "Clueless" back in the late 1990s and I was enough of a fan to buy the movie tie-in book of the film. Don't look for anything with deep literary meaning here, just read this chick lit for what it is: something to relive the movie with and to enjoy show more in an otherwise boring car trip.

Meet Cher -- she lives in Beverly Hills with her father, has her wardrobe on computer, and drives a Jeep even though she doesn't have a license. She wants to do good -- like arranging for two of her teachers to fall in love or rescuing a New York transplant from teenage hell -- all the while trying not only to give others the benefit of her fashion advice but also to makeover her soul.

The book stayed very close to the movie but I liked the book a tad bit better because you get to learn more about the characters. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves the "Clueless" movie and/or the now defunct tv series.

Camryn Barnes and Alexandra Fielding, Identical twin witches; Separated at birth. If they ever met they could combine their powerful gifts and help people. They could start to figure out who they really are; who their biological parents really are or were. They could fall into very evil hands. They're about to meet.

I enjoyed this book. It was written well and the story grabbed at me. The way the twins interact with each other because of the way they grew up differently is interesting to witness.
The second delight in a series I love. Read this the night Hurricane Helene knocked our power out.
