This is a wonderful collection of a variety of weird fiction. The biographies preceding the stories are also very interesting and helpful, but the constant canonization of August Derleth gets old quick.
This is a limited edition of 2500 copies published as a tribute to Starrett who was an integral member of the Chicago literati during the first half of the last century. His collecting experiences and love of books have, unfortunately, lost favor with the reading public. This is a shame, for like A. Edward Newton, Starrett's love of books shines through his writings.
