While the blurb is technically accurate it paints a misleading picture.
This is a chick-lit steamy romance with a love triangle first and foremost, full of innuendo and pining.
Everything else including the actual plot is very much secondary to that.
This continues throughout the second book as well.

If you are looking for a fast-paced urban fantasy adventure this is probably not the book for you.

What annoyed me are some of the women-power chick-lit tropes. Faithfulness in romantic relationships show more for example is treated more like a general guideline. Because all men are sexist pigs anyway and they deserve it except if they are hawt and rich, then it's ok. I hope you can tell the kind of story this is from that.

Later on, the whole mixture of Gods from basically all ancient mythology gets a lot more attention. If you are into seeing a huge number of different mythologies and legends being interwoven into motley chaos, this aspect might be worth its other flaws.

Interesting take on this collection. I thoroughly enjoyed sweatpants of this story. They were well thought out and had me riveted to what was going to happen next. However, there were other parts that I struggled this such as the villain of the story. The timeline didn't make sense for them to be behind the hero rescuing the heroine and the reasons why they did it considering the main characters hadn't met each other. Later events they knew each other but it just didn't make sense, show more especially knowing that the heroine had a penchant for high risks in order to feel alive.

Still, this is a great series and I'm liking all the various authors giving their own spin on the series.

Charlotte wants nothing to do with being a princess and doesn't want to marry the Beast prince. Charolette will do anything to avoid marrying him and be with the one she truly loves.
This book overlaps with the first book, The Beastly Crown. I love the relationship between Charlotte and Jorge. I feel like that is what true love should be. I enjoyed all the action scenes in this book. I find it surprising that the author fit so much into a novella. The plot was very entertaining, even with the show more flashbacks, it was still easy to follow. Overall great read, show less
A Greek Adventure:
The pace of the book was perfect and kept me interested in the story right from the beginning. Nia has problems with remembering things that occurred in her past and people she has met before. We don’t know why she can’t remember. Nia is also dealing with her breakup with Zane and with Tres who she had a relationship with many years ago who she has met again. We have amusing interactions with her friend Loren while they commiserate over the breakups of their boyfriends show more while trying to find Demeter’s tablet. We also get to interact with some Greek gods too! Definitely some twists you do not expect. This was a well written story full of action that sets you up for the next book. I will definitely be reading the next book in this series!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
