Short biography
Ingeborg Bayer was born in Frankfurt, Germany, and qualified as a librarian in academic libraries. Then she also studied medicine and Indian (Hindi) culture. She worked as an archivist in a medical archive. From 1958, she worked as a freelance journalist for various newspapers and radio stations. She published the first book of her three dozen books in 1963. Most of them were written for young people, and some them she reworked into theater plays. Her work encompassed historical and contemporary novels as well as books focused on social and psychological issues. They included a trilogy set in 17th century Venice, Italy. Ingeborg Bayer was a member of the PEN Center Germany. She received multiple awards for her work, including the Austrian State Prize in 1975, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation Prize in 1982, the Kathrin Türks Prize of the City of Dinslaken in 1986, the Friedrich Bödecker Prize in 1988, and the German Youth Literature Prize in 1989 for her novel Zeit für die Hora (Time for the Hora).

Sehr spannend geschrieben. Man hat das Gefühl selbst die Hauptperson des Buches zu sein und durchlebt mit ihr das Geschehen. Außerdem erhält man einen Einblick in das Denken der Menschen in der damaligen Zeit.
Tijdens een verblijf van ruim twee jaar in een gevangenis, veroordeeld wegens het dealen van drugs, schrijft Hanna haar ervaringen op en vertelt ook hoe het ooit zover is gekomen.
