Sarah Baylis (1956–1987)

Dreamlike but gritty fictional autobiography of the French painter Suzanne (aka Clementine) Valadon. Interesting that Baylis also worked as an artist's model prior to her premature (accidental) death in 1987. My one complaint with this book is that the slant is definitely on the worst aspects of Valadon's life - though the narrator provides some comic relief.
