I was disappointed by this book from both angles. First, I disagreed with a lot of the author's theology - very unorthodox. Second, I felt disappointed with it, even from the Harry Potter fan side, because it tried to fit too much symbolism in there, and the author even went so far as to claim that most of it was all intentional on J.K. Rowling's side, which I completely disagree with. (Some, yes maybe, but to the extent this author suggests? I think that is reading way too much symbolism show more into it - I think she just intended to write an enjoyable story.) show less
Worthy book on the subject, quite practical, with so many examples they tend to pad it out. Useful classification of the types of sermons that are given, they are not all three point sermons. Not afraid to be didactic, he insists we write out all our sermons, for at least the first year, but ideally preach from notes.
Enchanting in its simplicity, book offers practical guidelines for personal prayer life. In exemplary way author prepares the reader for establishing a live personal contact with God through prayer. His rich background combined with previous life experiences offers astonishing depth combined with life applicable illustrations of the process of building of personal prayer life.
I found this book to be helpful with the basics in anyone's prayer life. From the beginner to the most advanced this show more book thru prayer will strengthen your relationship with God. I also think this book is very well written, the author uses great analogies from life and applies them to biblical stories. This book is for you if you are looking to deepen your prayer life.

It's a mistake to preach out of dogma or doctrine without freshly seeing where the gospel is occurring.
