This is such an enjoyable film even though it is in many ways completely daft. Kevin Costner does his bit and Alan Rickman chews the scenery with relish. I've watched it many times but this was my first viewing on the BluRay version and it has some extra scenes which was a great surprise when I know the original DVD so well. Do you want an enjoyable few hours where the good guys win and the bad guys get their just desserts? - then this is the film for you.
Costner is a boorish Robin Hood- but to all luck he has Morgan Freeman as side-kick, and Alan Rickman as a foe, which make watching worthwhile. The costumes have very little to do with what you actually wore at the time, but are visually elegant.
A wronged nobleman challenges a usurper.
2/4 (Indifferent).
There are a couple scenes that aren't boring. Most of the entertainment comes from wondering at the weird casting and weirder acting choices. Alan Rickman does his best to save the movie.
