The boy with the U.S. weather men by Francis Rolt-Wheeler
Fifth grade level story about weather from about 1919. I quit reading when it said the Mississippi was the longest river in the world. It is a good story for kids to learn about basic weather patterns.

The Wonder of War at Sea by Francis Rolt-Wheeler
Interesting fictional story of a young boy who gets a first-hand view of the British war at sea during WW1 while in England. He serves on a variety of ships and his adventures gives you insight into naval life.
