As this is the first time I have read a phonetically regular book, I notice a few things. First, I notice that it is a level 15 book which means there are much simpler books in the series. Another thing I notice is that it generally uses the same type of language, involving slam and dunk somehow. The content in this book is not super in depth, rather it just plays with language. We would never see language like this in real life.
This book would be good for 2nd graders. It's too advanced for show more first graders, and most third graders would find it boring because it's too easy.
In my classroom, I could see myself using it to teach phonics or to allow students to practice their phonemic awareness. I couldn't see using it for much else.

This book would be very fun for those children who love sports, and the story of underdogs. It teaches a lot about teamwork, and working together with differences to solve a common problem. This would be a great book for beginning readers because it has lots of smaller words with just a few tier two, for second graders words.
This picture book told the story of two named Slam and Dunk who played basketball. They were getting ready for their big game against the bobcats. The bobcats were bigger than they were, and they were for sure that the would win. All of their parents showed up for the game to cheer them towards a victory. After a very tight game, and Slam and Dunk with the win, both teams showed great sportsmanship and shook hands.

I believe that this book shows great character. I would like to incorporate show more this book into possible three different lesson plans. Of course, it would be great for reading comprehension. I would like to incorporate it into a math lesson, because of the adding of the points throughout the game. This book could also be used for a language art lesson used for descriptive writing. show less
This is a Hooked on Phonics book that is great for young children to learn to read. It has enough worlds and none of them are challenging. There is dialogue and an exciting story line to make a child want to read. This book is great for anyone who wants to read about a trip to the moon. They characters are Slam, Dunk, and Moon Man. They author makes this book interesting and I think that this is a great book that will help young children want to learn how to read. I rate this book 5 out of 5 show more because it has a good story line, the pictures are great, it is a fun and easy read, and I think that most young students would enjoy it because f the words used. show less
