Daisy has a rowboat taxi. She carries more than people and cargo, she delivers family, pets, and pieces of home. Beautifully soft illustrations convey the feeling of relaxation and calm that Daisy must feel as she rows across the water.
Who says moo is a book that ask questions informational questions which can help a child to figure out what animal is being talked about. I like the style of this book because it ask the informational questions about the animals but allows the children to give the answers by not actually writing the answers in the book. For example, "Who is fuzzy? Who says quack?" This is a book that allows children to be interactive and engaged with the reader. Some of the questions about the animals are show more opposites. For instance, "Who runs fast? Who goes slow?". I think that this is a good book to introduce animals to a child. Overall, the style of this book is very accurate for the younger age group. show less
A Trip to Mars is an educational book written in the idea of a child's fantasy to go to Mars. By telling child what he or she will need on their trip, such as warm clothes and snacks, the book also stops to explain to us why these things would be needed, such as how far away Mars is from the sun, making it a cold planet. A Trip to Mars is captivating and appropriate for all ages. The back is full of Martian facts that even most adults do not know about.
This Teacher’s resource book focuses more on just hands-on activities. There are a few book recommendations in the back, but only one that is not another activity book. There are clear explanations of the activities, and they do seem to be interesting activities, but there are a few that I would question the ability to do in a classroom setting. I rated this book 4 out of 5 because it seemed to lack more resources, then just basic hands-on activities.
