This is a very useful brief biography from one of the towering figures of the Catholic Papacy. JPII lived in turbulent times in a turbulent country, and guided the Faithful of Poland both from the Archbishop's chair and from the Vatican as the Bishop of Rome. A book this small has to skip over a truly prodigious life but it is still moving and does more than simply hint at his epoch.
brief, informative view of japan.
