What a WONDERFUL story that started with an abused little boy! I was so thankful when he was adopted at the age of ten, but the damage had already been done as poor Zach could not run from the nightmares that plagued him every night. Zach and Luna had been friends most of their lives and he knew that Luna had a crush on him as they grew up. It seemed like Luna always knew when he had a nightmare and this morning was no different except that he was a man now. He didn't want to mess up their show more relationship but more and more as others in their group started to hit on her it made him growl! I love Luna as she had been there for Zach every time he needed him and she never wanted anyone else although her male friend's tried, but she was pure and only had eyes for Zach. In Control Us Book One was so good that I NEED to finish the series! show less

The blurb of this book intrigued me. What I found inside almost broke me. The things Lucas endured were horrendous. My heart ached for him. I liked That Lily helped him heal. That being said, other parts of the story I struggled with. The story at times drove me nuts. Lily was hard for me to like much of the time with her back and forth. Parts of the Story and characters from the past didn't seem to make sense as to why they even needed to be there.

Lucas and his backstory kept this show more book afloat for me. Just be prepared that there are a crapton of triggers. show less

I received this as an ARC in place of an honest review. It took me a little bit to get into the book, but after a while I was hooked. I had to keep reminding myself that the lead character was female. She "talked" like a guy, but after a while I got used to it. Yes there was a lot of graphic sex in it, but I still enjoyed the storyline. I definitely will read the next book. I'm curious to see if they solve the mystery.
